First off, I know I have mentioned this before, but we are going to be taking our comics to print and e-comic form in June. There are reasons for this, but the main one is that it was always the plan for our creators to be able to put some money in their pockets. In order to do this, we need to have ways of making money, and one of the best ways for a comic to make money is to put the comic out for sale. As soon as we have them ready, we will add a store section to the site, along with other merchandise.
Next, starting this week, we are putting some material in the background/timeline that comes from the Public Domain. NO-Earth is a shared universe, and while the rights are generous, this does not mean that we are putting NO-Earth into the public domain, only pulling characters in from the PD. Our first one is already on the site calendar, The Scarlet Avenger. This is a cool character from comic’s golden age that deserves an update and new lease on life. These new additions will be making their way into the background files on the site.
Next, the background files, both the Knowledge Base and the Timeline have been being updated, and will continue to be. We are growing this to be a strong world with a viable history and mythology.
I am going through our e-mail archives, as due to a number of factors, we have e-mails that didn’t get answered, or my crappy ATT connection dropped them, or the replies, so we are going to be touching base with every creator that wrote us under the last round of submissions, and make sure that those are on track.
And finally, there is a new script in the document library called Dead Planet, which is an interesting take on the standard Zombie tale. It is in need of an artist, so that’s three unclaimed scripts in the library now.
(Get the feeling I might be a touch busy?)
